GenLayer Validators: a public leaderboard for exploring validator performance

We have launched GenLayer Validators, a public leaderboard for exploring GenLayer validator performance.
GenLayer is a network centered on Intelligent Contracts, an approach designed to expand what smart contracts can do with AI, web data, and non-deterministic decisions. We have previously covered what GenLayer is building and how its architecture works, as well as the role of Bradbury Testnet in testing this infrastructure.
With GenLayer Validators, we want to make another part of the network easier to explore: how validators are participating in it.
The tool is currently available for Bradbury Testnet. It brings together public network data in a clearer format, so delegators, operators, and teams following the ecosystem can inspect more than a position in a table.
More than stake or uptime
Stake and uptime are useful signals, but they do not explain validator behaviour on their own.
An operator may have substantial stake while accumulating incidents. A validator may also be online at a given moment without being ready for the next epoch. That is why GenLayer Validators brings several operational signals into one interface.
The leaderboard shows five dimensions:
- Consensus accuracy: how the validator participates in network voting.
- Reliability: its activity, availability, and readiness for the next epoch.
- Security: recorded incidents or strikes.
- Leadership: how it performs when selected to propose a round.
- Market trust: signals related to self stake, delegated stake, and network weight.
Each dimension can be reviewed separately. This makes it possible to understand what drives a validator's score instead of relying on a single final number.
A leaderboard with visible methodology
GenLayer Validators recomputes its data every epoch and uses fixed weights to calculate the composite score.
The interface also includes context to avoid rushed conclusions. For example, the leadership metric accounts for sample size: a validator with only a few leader slots is not automatically treated as better or worse than one with a longer history. It simply has less data available for that part of its activity.
You can also review both nominal APY and risk-adjusted APY. The latter puts the advertised figure in context based on the validator's consensus accuracy, reliability, and security.
Alongside individual validator metrics, the tool shows the Nakamoto coefficient, which helps indicate how many validators hold more than 50% of the network's consensus weight.
A new public contribution to GenLayer
At Stakely, we joined GenLayer's new validator batch to support the network's development through infrastructure. But participating as an operator also means identifying the resources that can be useful to the community.
GenLayer Validators is an independent tool developed and maintained by Stakely. It is not an official GenLayer ranking and is not intended to replace each delegator's or operator's own research. Its purpose is to make the signals and methodology behind the ranking visible.
It also continues our work on public GenLayer snapshots, a resource that helps node operators restore a recent state and reduce synchronization time.
