Blockchain News Digest | March 2024 Update
Welcome to our blockchain news recap for March. As time marches on, so do the networks and protocols we are passionate about. This month is packed with exciting updates. Let’s dive in!
Cosmos
Grayscale Bets on ATOM, OSMO, and TIA
Grayscale, one of the largest digital asset managers in the world, has included ATOM, OSMO, TIA, and SEI in its Grayscale Dynamic Income Fund (GDIF). This is a significant step toward adoption, making it easier for investors to participate in these assets through investment funds.
Gaia v15 Release
The 15th version of Gaia has arrived with important technical updates, notably the unification of the minimum validator fee to 5%. Validators who previously charged 0% fee have had to adjust, ensuring delegators are no longer excluded from potential airdrops due to commission requirements.
Cosmos Hub with PSS
PSS (Partial Set Security) allows for the permissionless incorporation of consumer chains, facilitating the adoption of Replicated Security. Four chains are already fine-tuning their operations using PSS: Aether, Elys Network, Landslide Network, and Lorenzo Protocol. The latter is an L2 offering liquid staking services secured by Bitcoin on Cosmos.
Fantom
Community asset recovery
The Fantom Foundation continues its legal battle to recover approximately $122 million in assets against the Multichain Foundation in the Singapore High Court. The court has ordered Multichain to pay compensation, opening the possibility of asset recovery for the community.
Sui
Fallen Arena: Battle Royale
The new game Fallen Arena, developed by Ambrus Studio, is now available for Windows and Mac. If you decide to try it, we’d love to hear about your experience. Share your thoughts on our social media!
CETUS launches SUI/haSUI vault
Cetus has launched 'vaults' to improve asset management for liquidity providers, starting with the native SUI and haSUI pair, which boasts an approximate APY of 50%. Be sure to do your own research.
Polkadot
Development of Hollar Stablecoin
HydraDX, soon to be rebranded as Hydration Network, is developing Hollar, a stablecoin on Polkadot based on adaptive liquidity. This will allow the protocol to quickly respond to capital flows by adjusting interest rates or activating mint/burn mechanisms.
Cross-chain Automation
OAK Network is developing a bridge for cross-chain asset connection through Turing Network, Moonriver, and Shiden, facilitating interoperability between blockchains.
Quasar
Attractive vault opportunities
Quasar offers several vaults with appealing returns, such as the stTIA/TIA vault, which has reached an APR of 117%. There are also options for tokens like OSMO with attractive annual interest rates.
Archway
Transaction fee reduction
The minimum transaction fee on Archway has been reduced from 900 Gway to 140 Gway. This means transactions will now be much cheaper, encouraging continuous development on the platform.
Ethereum
Dencun enhances L2s with the arrival of blobs
The Dencun update for Ethereum promises greater scalability and more competitive transaction fees on its L2s, thanks to the implementation of blobs.
Stakely joins EigenLayer
We are excited to announce that Stakely has become a node operator on EigenLayer, reinforcing our commitment to Ethereum's decentralization. This opens up future opportunities with AVS and projects like GenesisLRT.
Dymension
NIM as the first RollApp
With the launch of Dymension, NIM Network is emerging as the first RollApp on the network, offering an airdrop for NIM delegators. This RollApp focuses on game development at the intersection of Web3 and AI.
Solana
Interoperability with Circle and CCTP
Circle has integrated Solana into the Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP), allowing developers to securely move USDC between seven blockchains, including Ethereum and Avalanche, improving capital efficiency without slippage.
Injective
inEVM and SA World
inEVM promises ultra-fast speeds and near-zero fees, ensuring composability between WASM and EVM. SA World will launch its gaming platform on Injective, offering new opportunities in the gaming sector with NFTs.
Key partnerships
Injective has secured notable partnerships in March with OKX, LayerZero, Hyperlane, AltLayer, and Galxe, strengthening ties to enhance finance and empower the INJ token.
