Stakely integrates Obol Distributed Validators in Lido Curated Module

September 3, 2025

At Stakely, we continue to evolve our validator infrastructure to meet the highest standards. As a node operator in Lido’s Curated Module, we are now deploying intra-operator Distributed Validator Technology using Obol’s battle-tested stack.

This deployment will distribute our validator responsibilities across Stakely-managed node clusters, increasing fault tolerance and eliminating single points of failure.

Why apply DVT as an intra-operator?

Intra-operator DVT allows us to preserve operational sovereignty while adding redundancy through Obol’s coordination layer. It introduces a fault-tolerant validator setup without compromising simplicity or performance.

This approach follows Lido’s integration guidelines and builds on the lessons learned from other modules like Simple DVT and CSM, where the benefits of distributed architecture, such as improved uptime, client diversity, and minimized correlated risks have already been demonstrated.

Why Obol?

Obol’s architecture aligns with our existing high-availability practices. Its isolated cluster model, mature tooling, and mainnet-proven design make it the ideal match for our operational goals, providing a robust and scalable foundation for distributed validation within a single operator environment.

"Lido and its Curated Module secure nearly 30% of all staked ETH. By deploying this ETH across Distributed Validators, we can make Ethereum more resilient while delivering optimal returns and minimizing risk for stETH holders." - Anthony Bertolino, Obol VP of Ecosystem

A structured rollout: from testnet to mainnet

We will begin by testing the deployment on the Hoodi testnet, validating cluster performance, recovery behavior, and coordination efficiency under real conditions. Once benchmarks are met, we’ll proceed with phased mainnet deployment across 1,000 Lido validators following Lido’s rollout guidelines.

Impact of intra-operator DVT adoption on the protocol

Intra-operator DVT not only strengthens our infrastructure but also aligns with Lido’s broader mission to minimize risk and maximize resilience across its validator set:

  • Validator duties are distributed across multiple nodes, reducing reliance on single machines or data centers.
  • It decreases the likelihood of correlated failures, improving uptime and fault isolation.
  • It provides a safe and standards-compliant path for gradual DVT adoption across the Curated Module.

For Stakely, this is not just a technical milestone, it reflects our long-term commitment to building foundational, secure infrastructure for Ethereum staking.
