The most relevant blockchain news in April

Do you want to stay up to date with the latest crypto world news? Here's a summary of the most relevant news from April.

Ethereum

Ethereum, the second most powerful blockchain in the crypto space, successfully completed one of the most anticipated updates, the Shapella upgrade, which finally enabled the ETH withdrawals.

Also, in Ethereum-related news, ConsenSys zkEVM's testnet Linea is now public and has announced an airdrop to celebrate. And finally, there is good news for Euler users as the funds stolen in the exploit have been recovered and can now be claimed.

Avalanche

Circle's Cross Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) is now available for developers on Avalanche and Ethereum. Now, users can burn and mint USDC natively in applications. In addition, CCTP strengthens security, experience, and interoperability in the exchange flow between Ethereum and Avalanche.

Another protocol that has come to Avalanche's mainnet is Cortina, with important optimizations for the chain offering more tools for developers. This could attract more development and growth to the ecosystem.

Evmos

Evmos Dao launched Forge DEX, a fork of Uniswap V3 that uses concentrated liquidity and liquid investment tokens thanks to Stride. Concentrated liquidity allows you to customize the price range when providing liquidity and gives you the option to balance your positions.

In addition, thanks to the C14 team, users from Brazil and Mexico can now directly access the Evmos ecosystem using PIX and SPEI.

Stride

Will Stride become one of the first sovereign blockchains to transform into a consumer chain of Cosmos Hub? After going through the discussion period to present the Stride business model as a consumer chain, it is now in governance to test the community's opinion.

If approved, this proposal would not make direct changes to Cosmos Hub. Two more proposals would be needed to implement the proposal and welcome Stride as a consumer chain. In this thread, we'll tell you more about the potential related to Stride's entry into ICS!

Quicksilver

This month, we welcome Osmosis as a new liquid staking zone on Quicksilver! But wait, the good news for the Osmosis community doesn't stop there. Starting this month, the OSMO:qOSMO liquidity pool will be incentivized with QCK in the Osmosis Zone!

And if you're not yet familiar with staking QCK, we've released a new Quicksilver video tutorial on YouTube, where we explain how to delegate QCK step by step. You'll be surprised at how easy it is!

Polkadot

Polkadot has activated "Fast Unstake" following the approval of referenda 111, which allows users to quickly unstake their delegations as long as they are not active with a simple procedure that can take around 3 minutes to complete.

As for the parachain auctions, the pace continues in Polkadot. Acurast Kusama, Alpha Network, Watr, and Imbue Network have been some of the winning parachains. In addition, KILT Protocol has secured a partnership with Axel Springer, one of the world's largest digital publishers. Both Polkadot and Kusama have been very active on GitHub.

On the other hand, the Polkadot Bridge Hub Genesis has received approval to be activated in the ecosystem, and Cumulon Protocol, an asset management solution, made its debut on Polkadot.

Celo

Celo has exciting news to share in April. The blockchain has been selected as part of a new Google Cloud initiative that seeks to support web3 developers. This has generated a lot of excitement, and Celo hopes to follow up on this new Google initiative.

In other news, the Chainlink network has scaled to Celo with its version called Chainlink ESCALE. This version will allow developers and users to access reliable and low-cost oracle data and services, including network fees.

Fantom

Fantom has announced a reduction in the staking requirements for validators to provide service to the network, which could make it easier for interested parties to become validators on the network.

And the games keep coming, this time with Supa Foundation launching the beta version of Internal Conflict. Also, Estfor Kingdom, the winner of the Fantom Hackathon 2023, announced its alpha version.

Fantom has also received some good recognition in the first quarter of the year as it has ranked among the top blockchains by percentage of address retention, according to web3 analyst Waggle Insights.

And to wrap up, Lava Network has announced it will join Fantom to support the creation of decentralized applications, specifically focused on creating the next generation of games.

Aptos

Do you need APT to get started in the Aptos ecosystem? This month, we've launched a new addition to our Multicoin Faucet. So, you know, don't forget to use our APT faucet to get out of a bind if you don't have enough tokens to pay for network fees!

Continuing with new additions, in April, Wapal joined the Aptos blockchain, an NFT Creator Studio. Wapal creates customizable smart contract libraries, SDKs, and development tools on the Aptos Blockchain.

Were we talking about games on other chains? Well, Aptos also deployed their own. Metapixel announced its testnet for Gran Saga Unlimited, with 8000 spots for adventurous gamers.

NEAR Protocol

During the month of April, NEAR Protocol officially joined the Google Cloud development project, which could have significant implications for the future of the network. Additionally, there were several important partnerships and collaborations, including the arrival of Crecy Card, the first credit card with crypto collateral in Mexico, which joined the ecosystem to provide staking for NEAR and Aurora users.

Another key partnership was with Nansen, a blockchain data analytics platform that focuses on blockchain data research and analysis. Arteus, a dApp store that allows tokenization of apps, NFTs, games, and more to serve as a storage database on NEAR, also joined.

Lastly, NEAR also ventured into the world of artificial intelligence with a collaboration with Cosmose AI, a company that seeks to expand the application of AI in consumer retail. With all these partnerships and collaborations, it's clear that NEAR continues to expand and grow.

Cosmos

Will Neutron be the first consumer chain on Cosmos? This blockchain is poised to be the first network built specifically within the ICS canon on Cosmos. We've been following its development for over a year now, and it recently made headlines again during Game of Chains, where it performed excellently on the ICS testnet.

With the approval of #792, we can now only wait for the imminent launch of the first blockchain built specifically to be a consumer chain of Cosmos Hub. We can't wait to see how it will develop and influence the ecosystem!

In addition, Cosmos IBC has taken another important step in its development by entering DotSama. The KSM<>DOT tests are now live on the Cosmos mainnet through Composable Finance, marking the first IBC implementation outside the Cosmos ecosystem. It's exciting to see how new opportunities for interoperability between chains continue to open up!

Injective

Injective had an exciting month, with many noteworthy news! Firstly, they announced that it is now possible to liquidity stake INJ on Stride and receive liquid tokens stINJ. Additionally, in April, they integrated synthetic assets with Pyth Network and celebrated a successful Hackathon.

Regarding updates on their platform, the cross-chain asset management protocol Black Panther announced that they are building a new dApp on Injective to build real yield strategies on their network. Additionally, Injective now allows its users to onboard over 150 fiat currencies through their partnership with Transak.

In partnership with Celer Network, Injective will provide one of the largest amounts of cross-chain connections in the entire industry, leveraging the cross-chain capabilities of L1 and L2 chains interacting with Injective.

Tencent, the largest Chinese company by market capitalization, now supports builders in the Injective ecosystem, and Helix has announced that their platform is now available for the trading of silver.

And if that wasn't enough, the Injective explorer has officially listed Parallel DEX in the Dapps section, and in governance, proposal #224 of Talis Protocol to create the first NFT marketplace in this finance-born ecosystem is already active. Injective continues to grow and expand its ecosystem!
