Go to the Polkadot Wallet
and create a new account if you don't have one yet. It is recommended to create two different accounts: a stash account
, which will hold the nomination stake, and a controller account
to manage this nomination. However, you can perform the process with just one account.
Send funds to your Polkadot wallet. You can copy the wallet address by clicking on the account image. If you have created two accounts, deposit most of the funds in the stash wallet and leave a bit more than 1 DOT in the controller wallet.
Head to the Network
menu, click on Staking
and go to the Account actions
section. Now, click on + Nominator
.
You will be prompted to set the stash and controller account
-as said before, you can use the same account-, the number of tokens to stake, and the payment destination. The default selection will auto-compound your rewards.
Now you can select the validators (up to 16) to stake your DOT. You can find us by searching Stakely in the validator list or via our validator address:

We recommend selecting multiple trusted validators to maximize yield. Make sure you choose trusted validators since unsafe validators can cause slashing of your assets.
Confirm the transaction fee, introduce the password, then click on Sign and Submit
to submit the transaction. Congratulations, you're staking DOT! The nomination will be effective in the next Polkadot era. If you have selected multiple validators, only one nomination will be active and the rest will be displayed as inactive.
